How Do I Request My Data?
At Zeller, we take your privacy seriously. Under UK data protection law, you have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you. This is known as a Data Subject Access Request (DSAR).
This article explains what a DSAR is, what you can request, and how to submit a request to Zeller.
What is a DSAR?
A Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) is a request made by an individual to access their personal data held by an organisation.
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), you have the right to:
-
Confirm whether we process your personal data
-
Access the personal data we hold about you
-
Receive information about how and why your data is used
-
Request a copy of your personal data
What information can I request?
You can request access to personal data that relates to you, which may include:
-
Account and profile information
-
Contact details
-
Transaction or usage data
-
Communications with Zeller
-
Technical or device information associated with your account
Please note that some data may be withheld or redacted if required by law, for example where it involves another individual’s personal data or is subject to legal privilege.
How do I submit a DSAR to Zeller?
You can submit a DSAR by contacting us using one of the following methods:
-
Email: support@myzeller.com
-
Phone: 0800 917 9206
When submitting your request, please include:
-
Your full name
-
The email address associated with your Zeller account
-
A clear description of the data you are requesting (optional but helpful)
You do not need to use any specific wording to make a DSAR.
Do I need to verify my identity?
Yes. To protect your privacy, we may need to verify your identity before processing your request. This may involve:
-
Confirming account details
-
Requesting additional information or documentation
We will only request information that is necessary to verify your identity.
How long does it take?
We aim to respond to all DSARs within one month of receiving your request, in line with UK GDPR requirements.
If your request is complex or we receive multiple requests from you, this period may be extended by up to two additional months. If this happens, we will let you know and explain why.
Is there a fee?
In most cases, DSARs are processed free of charge.
However, we may charge a reasonable fee or refuse a request if it is manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive, as permitted by law. If this applies, we will explain our decision.
Can someone else make a request on my behalf?
Yes. An authorised third party (such as a solicitor or authorised representative) can submit a DSAR on your behalf.
We will require:
-
Written authorisation from you, and
-
Verification of both your identity and the representative’s identity
